Position Summary
The Director of Sacraments and Liturgy is responsible to deliver a seamless experience for persons who are seeking the sacraments of Baptism and Matrimony, as well as those in the RCIA and RCIC process, providing a welcoming experience for individuals, couples, and families from their first inquiry to their day of celebration. The Director of Sacraments and Liturgy is also responsible for overseeing and preparing for all daily, weekend, and holy day liturgies. 

Responsibilities

  • Organize, train, and coach teams (i.e. baptism and marriage sponsor couples, and RCIA and RCIC mentors)
  • Recruit volunteers, mentor and schedule ministry volunteers in the liturgical and support activities including but not limited to: Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Welcome Team, Ushers, Hospitality, Altar Servers, and Environment (decorating).
  • Prepare and execute the coordination of daily, weekend and Holy Day Masses, sacramental and non-liturgical services (i.e. parish Reconciliation services).
  • Prepare scripts, manage liturgical supplies, and manage budgets.
  • Work with Music and Technology Director to incorporate music and technology into liturgy.
  • Serve as the primary contact and processing of Archdiocesan and other Catholic canonical marriage paperwork.
  • Assist couples in planning wedding ceremonies and conduct wedding rehearsals.
  • Work closely with the Next Steps Director to develop and promote programs and opportunities for faith development.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or two to four years of experience working in pastoral ministry
  • Practicing Roman Catholic who desires to make Jesus known and loved
  • Familiarity with the Catholic liturgical rites (i.e. GIRM)
  • Proficient computer skills (i.e. Microsoft O?ce, G Suite, Ministry Scheduler Pro)
  • Must be flexible in order to accommodate a sometimes irregular work schedule
  • Must be Essential 3 compliant on first day of employment as required by Archdiocese
