Position Summary
The Next Steps Director (NSD) is responsible to help people discover and take their next steps in their walk with God. The NSD will design, execute, and measure next-step strategies aimed at growing active participation in sacraments and worship, mission, ministry and service, formation, and spiritual growth opportunities. This is a broad role that includes constructing and equipping on-ramps, systems, and ministries to help people transition from being a visitor or inquirer at our church to getting connected, growing in discipleship, and inviting others to take their next steps. 

Responsibilities

  • Help to shape, formulate, and direct next-step programming and ministries that enable the formation of intentional disciples and lifelong growth in the Catholic faith (i.e. Bible Studies, Watchmen, Women at the Well, Financial Peace University, Marriage Enrichment, Young Adults Group).
  • Create Teams to implement ways to reach out to parishioners who are inactive in their faith as well as the unchurched in our community and encourage them to take their next steps in their faith.
  • Provide guidance and direction for the establishment and ongoing support for small group experience in the parish to help people get connected.
  • Be present frequently at weekend Masses and at significant parish events in an effort to know and be known by parishioners.
  • Serve as the staff liaison seeking out and engaging parishioners to serve in ministries.
  • Work closely with the Sacraments and Liturgy Director and Communications Coordinator to develop and promote programs and special events for faith development.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or two to four years of experience working on next-step initiatives Practicing Roman Catholic who desires to make Jesus known and loved
  • Knowledge and passion for developing and refining systems and ministry teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient computer skills (i.e. Microsoft O?ce, G Suite, PDS)
  • Must be flexible in order to accommodate a sometimes irregular work schedule
  • Must be Essential 3 compliant on first day of employment as required by Archdiocese
