Job Description
St. Bartholomew Catholic Church is seeking a full time Director of Youth Ministry to direct and lead a comprehensive youth ministry and faith formation program for youth in grades 6-12th. This position requires an ability to relate well with young people, to create partnerships with parents, to recruit and train adult leadership, and to collaborate with parish staff. The main responsibilities include: middle and high school catechesis and evangelization, retreats, confirmation preparation, service experiences, summer youth programs, pastoral care and volunteer leadership development. St. Bartholomew is an active Life Teen parish and participates in major youth events such as Youth Ministry Conferences and World Youth Day.
Job Qualifications•
A practicing Catholic who upholds and cherishes Church teaching. • Experience in the field of youth ministry preferred. • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in theology, religious education, pastoral ministry or related field from an accredited college required. • Possess computer skills and a proficiency in other appropriate software and social media. • Be able to successfully complete an Archdiocesan background check. • Ability to communicate well with teens and adults in a variety of settings. • Possess good leadership and teaching skills. • Ability to work and communicate with adults and parents. • Ability to recruit, train and supervise catechists and youth leaders. • Ability to plan, organize and implement programs and events. • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. • Be present and prepared to work, on time, for all areas of responsibility.
