Superintendent of Catholic Schools
The Diocese of Winona-Rochester is actively seeking an educational leader to serve as Superintendent of Catholic Schools.
Led by Bishop Robert E. Barron, the Diocese serves the 20 southernmost counties of the State of Minnesota – bordered by the Mississippi River to the east and South Dakota to the west. The Diocese is home to 99 parishes, four high schools, 30 elementary schools and the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary on the campus of St. Mary’s University in Winona.
This full-time position is currently based out of the Pastoral Center in Winona, MN but will eventually be based out of Rochester, MN. The position will be responsible for ensuring the strategic initiatives for Catholic education are in place and reflective of the Bishop’s vision. In addition, the position is responsible for promoting and advancing the Catholic identity, academic excellence and (in conjunction with the diocesan Chief Financial Officer) financial viability of all Catholic schools in the Diocese. Reporting to the Vicar General/Moderator of the Curia and the Diocesan Bishop, the chosen individual typically possesses a Master’s degree (Doctorate preferred) in education/school administration and a minimum of 10 years proven success in educational leadership positions. A current Principal licensure is required. Candidates should have a collaborative leadership style, be an effective, articulate communicator, highly skilled at multi-tasking, adaptable to change, effective at interfacing with a diverse group of internal customers and external contacts, an exceptional planner and organizer and must be a practicing Roman Catholic.
