Appointments - May 2022

The Most Reverend John M. Quinn, Bishop of the Diocese of Winona-Rochester, announces the following:

Rev. John Evans: currently Pastor of Crucifixion Parish in La Crescent, St. Patrick Parish in Brownsville, and Canonical Administrator of St. Peter School in Hokah; resigns as Pastor of St. Patrick Parish in Brownsville and is appointed to the Office of Pastor of St. Peter Parish in Hokah, while remaining Pastor of Crucifixion Parish in La Crescent, effective July 1, 2022. 

Rev. Edward McGrath: currently Pastor of St. Mary Parish in Chatfield, St. Columban Parish in Preston, St. Patrick Parish in Lanesboro, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Harmony, and Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Canton; in addition to his current assignments, appointed to the Office of Pastor of St. Olaf Parish in Mabel, effective July 1, 2022.

Rev. Chinnappa Pothireddy: currently Pastor of Holy Trinity Parish in Rollingstone, St. Paul Parish in Minnesota City, and St. Mary Parish in Minneiska; in addition to his current assignments, appointed to the Office of Pastor of St. Rose of Lima Parish in Lewiston, effective May 18, 2022; and appointed to the Office of Pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Rushford, effective July 1, 2022.

Rev. Matthew Wagner: currently Pastor of St. Mary Parish in Caledonia and St. Olaf Parish in Mabel; resigns as Pastor of St. Olaf Parish in Mabel and is appointed to the Office of Pastor of St. Patrick Parish in Brownsville, while remaining Pastor of St. Mary Parish in Caledonia, effective July 1, 2022.

Deacon Michael Churchill: to be ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Winona-Rochester on June 24, 2022; appointed Parochial Vicar of Pax Christi Parish in Rochester and Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Mazeppa, with assigned responsibilities at Lourdes High School in Rochester, effective July 1, 2022.

Rev. Prince Raja: incardinated priest of the Archdiocese of Madurai, India, and, with permission of his archbishop, released for service in the Diocese of Winona-Rochester; appointed Parochial Vicar of St. Augustine Parish in Austin and St. Edward Parish in Austin, effective May 1, 2022.

Very Rev. William Thompson: currently Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia of the Diocese of Winona-Rochester and Pastor of St. Rose of Lima Parish in Lewiston; resigns as Pastor of St. Rose of Lima Parish in Lewiston, while remaining Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia of the Diocese of Winona-Rochester, effective May 18, 2022.

Deacon Preston Doyle: currently assigned to diaconal ministry at Sacred Heart Parish in Waseca; transferred to diaconal ministry at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Mankato, effective May 1, 2022.

Deacon David Blake: granted senior status as a Deacon in the Diocese of Winona-Rochester, effective May 3, 2022.
