An online diocesan Fall Ministry Day will be held on Thursday, October 15th, from 9:00 am - 3:30 pm (with a midday break between the morning and afternoon sessions). The title for the day is, “New Wine into New Wineskins: The ‘How’ of Missionary Discipleship in Our New Reality.” The day will focus on how to build up mission-driven parishes, and how to form parishioners into “missionary disciples,” especially amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The lead presenter and facilitator for the day will be Mr. Rich Curran, founder and Executive Director of Parish Success Group which provides training and consultation for parishes “to build great teams and great ministries.” For 30 years Rich has served the Catholic Church within parishes, dioceses, and nationally, and is a speaker and ministry coach who addresses over 50,000 youth and adults each year.
The day will include presentations by Rich, breakout conversations for participants, Q & A time, etc. Rich’s two presentations will be:
• Hope, Hard Talk, and Mission. “Being a disciple looks like something and requires something, as we learn from Scripture and Church teaching. We will examine five critical behaviors and actions of missionary Catholic parishes and dioceses.” [Morning session]
• What Should Your Parish be Doing in the Next Three Months? “The attitudes and behaviors of each parish team and the diocese must be servant focused and come from a place of spiritual transformation. Be crystal clear on your mission and the purpose for everything you are doing.” [Afternoon session]
Program and registration information are available at the diocesan web site: www.dowr.org. There is no fee to participate in the day.
